Watch the trailer for this biopic of Brit punk rockstar Ian Dury.

For those of you unaware of Ian Dury, I shall offer a little bit an education. Ian Dury was a friggin god in the U.K. back in the 1970s and in spite of being afflicted with polio he formed the band ‘Ian Dury & the Blockheads’ & was one of the pioneers of the punk-rock scene during it’s inception. This movie is based on his life & draws its title from his hit single of the same name.

I’ll be looking forward to this movie cause of  Andy Serkis who finally gets to be the lead in a movie without having stand in for a 1000 foot gorilla or a deformed hobbit. Plus I do enjoy a good musical biography & thankfully from the looks of the trailer this doesn’t seem to have the mawkish sentimentality.

The movie stars Andy Serkis, Olivia Williams, Ray Winstone, Naomie Harris & Toby Jones. It released in the U.K. on the 8th of January 2010.
