Although, I quite enjoyed certain parts of the movie, I can't seem to think of anything concrete about the movie to recommend it to you.

It is a romantic comedy, the kinds I usually enjoy and yet the whole film seemed so pointless. The story was unconvincing and incomplete in more than one way.

The problem, to begin with, I think, was that the two leads were completely mismatched, and I don't speak from personal prejudice. (I love Hugh Grant!) Hugh Grant was very much himself and Sarah Jessica Parker was well…….Sarah Jessica Parker, which I think diluted any chemistry they attempted to create. Thus the separation, on which the entire romantic angle of the movie is rests, seemed unconvincing.

And yet despite this, the movie has quite a few moments where I laughed, sniggered and snorted, most of which are delivered by Hugh Grant. The rest of cast do very little to contribute to anything funny on screen, including Sarah Jessica Parker.

The story revolves around a newly separated slick urban couple, Meryl (Sarah Jessica Parker), a successful realtor, and Paul (Hugh Grant), a lawyer. A very regretful and apologetic (and rather cute) Paul is trying very hard to woo back Meryl, who dumped him on account of his act of infidelity. On one such night out, they find themselves witness to a murder and are in turn targets of the murderer. The FBI places them in a witness protection program in Ray, Wyoming. The rest is a bunch of slow moving, unrelated sequences of the two trying to cope with country life and each other. Pointless details are given an inordinate time and some very poorly constructed scenes along with the stupid plot just make the movie drag. To add to that a very half baked love parody of the city bred couple in the good ol' country.

The only thing that kept me going, were some really witty lines, funny moments and Hugh Grant.

Final Verdict: Watch this movie only if you are truly bored on a lazy afternoon or if you are a fan of Hugh Grant. (Did you know that Hugh Grant and I share the same Birthday!)

Grade: C
