Things that I learnt from this movie:

1. Best friends make the worst enemies. True.

2. Marriages maybe about couples, but Weddings are only about the bride. True.

3. Good girls always get the most insensitive of guys and vice versa. Sooo True.

4. The best weddings happen in The Plaza. Huh?!

Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway) are best of friends since childhood and have shared a common dream of getting married or should I say having a wedding, at The Plaza. They have it all planned out in their heads, with every fine details down to the month of the wedding, the only delay was finding a right guy and getting a proposal.

Before I continue, let me tell you a little about both and their to-be-husbands. Typical everyday stereotyped, Liv is shown to be the confident, impatient, overbearing & authoritarian girl, who would go to any extent to get what she wants, even if it means confronting a proposal out of her boy friend. Her boyfriend and later threatened fiancé, Daniel (Steve Howey), is a majorly understanding and caring partner, much like her best friend Emma.

Emma, on the other hand is the kind of person who is taken for granted by everyone, including her colleagues, her fiancé, Fletcher (Chris Pratt) and her best friend, Liv. She has a subdued personality, waiting to burst out, which is exactly what leads to the making of Bride Wars.

When Liv and Emma find themselves with the same wedding dates at the Plaza, all hell breaks loose. Neither wants to share their special day, not even with the other, but still wants the other as a Maid of Honour at their weddings. They expected the other to reconcile with the situation and change the wedding date and venue and when they can't come to agreement, begin the insidious conflict which turns into a nasty battle of egos.

What follows is what makes the movie so entertaining and worth the watch. I laughed & I cried (Literally!!). A good job done by the director, Gary Winick. The movie is a beauty to the eye and shot well.
The movie is very rosy and pleasant, even in the mean and bitchy scenes, a little removed from reality just how a girly movie should be. The only thing that bothered me was the character of Fletcher. He was so imperfect. Unlike Daniel, he didn't seem to understand Emma, her changing state of mind and her need for a friend. His character brought touch of reality to the story, and it somehow didn't fit in tone with the rest of the story.

But, nevertheless, I loved the film, something I will be watching over and again, soon.

Final Verdict: The movie is a pure chick flick in mind, body and soul, so don't go expecting anything but a lot of girly drama, girly humour and girly action.
