Gordon Gekko is back after a hiatus of 23 years & in the current world scenario greed’s never been better & he’s going to fit right in. After plenty of false starts Oliver Stone finally has the sequel to his almost prophetic 1987 movie ready.

The movie’s plot revolves around Gekko being released from prison after 23 years & trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter. He also somehow gets involved in helping out his daughter’s boyfriend who’s a stockbroker with extracting revenge on a slimy hedge fund manager whose dealings have contributed to the recent economic downturn. So looks like Gekko’s going down a different path this time around, or is he? Either way can’t wait to hear some more awesome pearls of wisdom from Douglas.

Michael Douglas won an Oscar for Best Actor in the original & anyone who says he wasn’t memorable is lying through his teeth. He’ll be reprising his role as Gekko & there are reports that Charlie Sheen & Martin Sheen might have cameos too. The new roster of actors includes Shia LeBeouf , Josh Brolin, Eli Wallach, Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon & this year’s Best Actress nominee Carey Mulligan.

The movie releases in the U.S. on the 23rd of April 2010.

*Update* New longer trailer with a lot more of Michael Douglas is out.
