The toys are back in town! Check out the latest trailer.

Woody & Buzz return in the third part of Pixar’s beloved & revolutionary 3D animated Toy Story series. It’s been ten years since Toy Story 2 came out in theatres & the third part has had a rocky development history, with it even going direct to DVD at one stage & at another point Pixar refused to be involved with the film. Better sense prevailed & Pixar still held the reins of it’s flagship franchise.

The plot this time around is that Andy is all grown up & he heads to college leaving behind his toys, which due to certain circumstances end up at a day care center. Now the Toys have to deal with pre-school toddlers & they start to plan their escape but Buzz unfortunately gets damaged during the escape & has to be reset leading to further complications.

The trailers do have the playful camaraderie displayed by all the toys throughout all the films & that’s all that’s needed for me to be assured that the film is in good hands considering they manage to recapture that magic.

Tom Hanks & Tim Allen return to voice Woody & Buzz Lightyear along with all nearly all cast members voicing your favorite characters from the previous two parts. Michael Keaton is the only major addition to the cast & he’s rumored to voice Ken, Barbie’s companion.

Leading up to the release of the film next year, Pixar has announced brand new Disney Digital 3-D versions of the first two films to be released in theatres in October 2009. Toy Story 3 will be releasing in the U.S. on the 18th of June 2010, I guess it’s Indian release date should be around the same time.

*Update* A brand new full-length trailer sheds more light on the story & has gotten me even more excited for the movie.
