The first trailer for the third installment in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse is out. It’s only a teaser trailer & since I can’t make out much about the plot I have looked up the summary released by Summit Entertainment;
“As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.”
All the cast members from the original two chapters are back & they still can’t act to save their lives. The only new cast member is Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village, Spiderman 3, and Terminator Salvation) as Victoria since Rachelle Lefevre who originally played the character had some scheduling conflicts.
The movie is directed by David Slade who had made a pretty decent Vampire movie in the past with ’30 Days of Night’ & the terrific revenge-thriller ‘Hard Candy’.
Eclipse will hit screens in the U.S. on the 30th of June 2010.
*Update* The new trailer seems to shift the focus away from the romantic elements to some action elements involving a civil uprising of sorts amongst the vampires.
