Title: Secretariat
Release Date: 8th October 2010 – U.S.
Cast: Diane Lane, John Malkovich, Scott Glenn, James Cromwell
Director: Randall Wallace
Plot: Based on a true story about Penny Chenery (Diane Lane) who took over her ailing father’s stable business & with help from an eccentric trainer helped not just turn the business around but also had one of her prized horses called Secretariat win the United States Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, a very prestigious racing award.
Our Two Cents: I know it might remind you of a ton of horse-racing movies & it probably might be similar too. I had liked Randall Wallace’s directorial debut, ‘We Were Soldiers’ (2002) & am guessing he’d bring the same kind of intensity to a whole different kind of subject matter here. But on the other hand the movie could just turn out ot be sappy & predictable.
How eager am I to watch it? I would not mind giving it a chance.
