Taking a cue from ‘Luck By Chance’ earlier this year Ken Ghosh’s ‘Chance Pe Dance’ treads a similar path of struggling actors in the film industry, albeit it applies a different treatment to the story.
Shahid Kapoor is a struggling actor who loses out on a prestigious film role & then takes up a job teaching kids how to dance. After initially facing communication problems with the kids he soon bonds well with them & trains them for a dance competition all the while trying to make his dream of becoming an actor come true. Genelia Dsouza’s choreographer character is thrown into the mix at some point & becomes the obligatory love interest.
The production looks slick & Shahid is on a roll after ‘Kaminey’ but it’s high time he lost some of the unnaturally large body mass sticking to him. Director Ken Ghosh who earlier made ‘Ishq Vishk’ & ‘Fida’ seems to have an eye for good visuals & the trailer shows that though the story seems stale as week old bread. The trailer gives almost none of the plot away & is full of different songs & dances.
