Warner Bros. & “veteran” Jyotin Goel join hands to bring you yet another animated effort from Bollywood. Wait a minute, who the hell is Jyotin Goel? Even I did not know the answer to that until I did some research & turns out his family made movies such as ‘Dus Lakh’, ‘Ek Phool Do Mali’ & ‘Inaam Dus Hazar’ (they do have a thing for numbers in their titles).
The plot revolves around some singing contest taking place amongst birds residing in Mumbai.
Judging from the look of this movie I have no idea what prompted Warner Bros. to go into being a partner on a movie like this. The animation quality even when compared to something like ‘Roadside Romeo’ or ‘Koochie Koochie Hota Hai’ is lacking by the length of the circumference of the earth, forget comparing to international quality stuff. Mr. Goel apparently said this in one of his interviews, “Bird Idol is a laugh-out-loud riot, combining international quality animation with pure, unadulterated comedy.” Sorry but couldn’t find evidence of either in the trailer.
