Another period-drama with a strong emphasis on the royal family, bring on the Art direction & Costume design Oscars!!! This one revolves around the tale of the young Queen Victoria & her romance with Prince Albert in the 1830s set against the backdrop of her coronation.
The trailer has the usual lush vistas usually reserved for a period drama piece along with some inspirational music to go with the ‘coming of age of a Queen’ tale. Maybe the movie might turn out to be interesting though I wonder will the politics or the romance be the focus of the film.
The movie stars Emily Blunt, Rupert Friend, Paul Bettany, Mark Strong, Jim Broadbent, Miranda Richardson & Thomas Kretschmann. One of the producers happens to be Martin Scorsese.
The movie released in the U.K. on the 6th of March 2009 & it’ll release in the U.S. on the 18th of December 2009.
