George Clooney has built up one hell of a prolific acting & directing resume over the past decade & it’s surprising that this is the same guy who once played the lead in the sacrilegious ‘Batman & Robin’. The trailers for Up in the Air (especially the first one) are some of the best movie trailers I’ve seen all year along & would hate to miss this flick.
Ryan Bingham (George Clooney) is a corporate ‘hit-man’ (not literally) sorta guy who travels around the country terminating jobs of corporate employees. He’s sort of the bringer of bad news something like the grim reaper. He’s had a hollow existence himself with little or no emotional attachments & the thing he looks up to the most is collecting enough frequent flyer points to be part of an exclusive club of flyers around the globe. However his company grounds him after they find a worthy substitute for him & the life which he had turns over it’s head with him being in a situation unfamiliar to him from his usual lifestyle.
The movie stars George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Jason Bateman, Danny McBride, Sam Elliot, J.K. Simmons, Zach Galifianakis & Anna Kendrick. Jason Reitman who’s previous efforts include Juno & Thank You for Smoking directs this movie which is adapted from a book of the same name written by Walter Kirn.
The movie releases on the 25th of December in the U.S.
One of the best trailers of the year, watch it.
