Peter Jackson is back in the director’s chair after 2005’s King Kong with a supernatural-drama-thriller based on the best selling book by Alice Sebold. The movie has seen it’s budget rise from it’s initial amount of $65 million to $100 million, the release date also got pushed back from the initial date of 13th March 2009 to 11th December 2009 & the movie also had to change it’s leading actor from Ryan Gosling to Mark Wahlberg after shooting had begun.

The story is set in the 1970s & involves a young girl who’s killed by a serial killer. She doesn’t go to heaven instead her ghost watches over her family as they go through the grief of her death & she also watches her killer covering his tracks & getting away. She tries to help in any manner she can her family overcome her loss & catch the killer at the same time.

The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon & Saoirse Ronan. The trailer gives a wonderful tease into the visual delights of the film & it looks like it packs quite an emotional wallop too. Looking forward to watching this one.
The movie releases in the U.S. on the 11th of December.
