Jeff Bridges has been nominated for an Oscar 4 times & still not one any. A real shame since the guy has given some memorable performances over the years. From the looks of things he will be nominated in the best Actor category again this time but will he win is anybody’s guess.
In Crazy Heart he plays an aging country singer, Bad Blake who’s had one too many bad marriages & no real friends in his life. He’s also an alcoholic & pretty much broke, until he meets a young journalist played by Maggie Gyllenhaal who helps him bring out the long buried musician from inside him. He also starts to mentor an up & coming country star played by Colin Farrell.
The trailer looks decent enough though nothing exciting. I had enjoyed Walk the Line but didn’t particularly like Ray so I’m not sure if I’d like the movie though I do expect a lot from Bridges. The movie releases in the U.S. on the 16th of December in a limited fashion.
